Why am I getting so many credit card offers when my credit rating would remind anyone of a cesspool?

These banks are sick. Each month I must get about 5 to 10 offers to sign up for new credit card accounts, some of them pre-approved. My credit is certainly less than perfect.

Why am I getting so many credit card offers when my credit rating would remind anyone of a cesspool?construction loans

the word %26quot;preapproved%26quot; is bait... You aren%26#039;t preapproved...unless they give you something like a $25 limit with huge interest and penalties

Why am I getting so many credit card offers when my credit rating would remind anyone of a cesspool? loan

The term %26quot;pre-approved%26quot; is meaningless. It is the bank%26#039;s way of encouraging more people to apply. If your credit is poor, then your application will be rejected once the bank has received it and examined your credit history|||apply for one then you will know.|||They think that because your credit is bad that you are desperate and therefore an easy mark, for the high interest, penalties, and yearly charges the place on the card.|||There are two ways a bank may profit with credit cards. The first one thru the interest charged. This is as expected. The second way is thru late payment fees and such. You may think your credit is not good. That may be the reason you were targeted. The bank may hope you apply to one of their cards, pay late, bag YOUR late fee. Believe, they have the thing down to a science. They calculated you will pay, but that you will pay late at times.|||If you want to opt out of these credit card offers (which I did because it is annoying and can be a way to expose yourself to identity theft should someone get in your mail), go to this website below:

https://www.optoutprescreen.com/?rf=t

It%26#039;s the site recommended by the Federal Trade Commission to opt out.|||Once I received a rejection letter from a credit card company the same day I received a %26#039;pre-approved%26#039; offer from the same company. The ONLY requirement to receive such offers is having an address. Visit www.optoutprescreen.com to stop most of the offers. It has worked for me for 3 months so far.|||Well , i think it is due to the fact that most credit card companies do not %26quot;pre-approve%26quot;, meaning they have no idea of your credit history. They also, in Canada anyway, cannot access your credit file without your express permission, unless you are already a customer of said bank or financial institution.

Sometimes it%26#039;s better that way! LOL, Hope this was something along the line of a logical answer for you.

I think that you could just notify the bank/cc company of your interest, after all, I hear that they have even sent credit card offers to dogs, babies and dead people.

Getting the credit isn%26#039;t the problem, paying it off and not becoming a slave to it is! Been there, done that, and never again! Been three years debt FREE!!!

CASH is King, debt is dumb and the paid off home mortage is the NEW status symbol of wealth!!!!

How do I get on credit card mailing lists, to receive credit card offers?

First, you need a credit history, so open a bank account. Get a few credit cards at local stores like Macy%26#039;s and Target.

Once you do that, the cards will come flying!!!

Beware, most cards will have a great introductory offer, but will screw you in the end. There is a bank in willmington DE or something like that that really lets the BS fly! Gives you a seemingly good card but has like $30 late fees.|||If you really believe these %26quot;Pre-approve%26quot; credit card offers, good luck.

That %26quot;pre-approve%26quot; means that it is IF you meet their approval. Unless you already have a good credit rating, you can pretty much forget about getting a credit card.

Also, every time one of those companies check out your credit history, it is logged in as an entry in your credit background, which is not good for your credit rating.

Here are a couple of websites that may be helpful in your quest for %26quot;pre-approved%26quot; credit card offers.

Be sure to read the mighty fine print on the application, and be prepared to pay an anual service fee and probably an initial start-up fee.|||Instead of waiting for credit card offers from credit card companies, you may want to be more proactive. You can go online and compare many credit card offers and apply online. A good place to start is http://www.creditcardatoz.com

The credit bureaus offer a toll-free number that enables you to “opt-out” of having pre-approved credit offers sent to you for two years. Call 1-888-5-OPTOUT (567-8688) for more information.

write return to sender on the envelopes and send them all back. the companies dont like paying the return postage so they take your name off their mailing list.|||go to http://www.optoutprescreen.com

This is the only way to remove yourself from the pre-approved or pre-screened credit offers. You may get non-screened offers still, but you should see your mail cut by 75%, at least with credit offers.

Rumor has it, you might even see a small increase in your credit scores, since you won%26#039;t be getting pounded with offers for I believe 3 years.|||Many have an opt-out number or address at the bottom of the offer that you can call or write.|||Lots of good information about this is at the link below. You need to proactively tell the companies to %26quot;delete%26quot; you from their mailing lists.

Many credit card companies will also take you off their advertising lists if you call their customer service number (Citibank will put you on a %26quot;do not solicit%26quot; list if you call and ask them.)|||Die.

just kidding! Really I have no idea, but I do wonder the same thing. They are really annoying!|||I dont think it%26#039;s possible but u can try calling the phone #s or returning the mail back to sender to request to be taken off the mailing list. i hope they%26#039;ll listen.|||If you decide that you don’t want to receive prescreened offers of credit and insurance, you have two choices: You can opt out of receiving them for five years or opt out of receiving them permanently. Call toll-free 1-888-5-OPTOUT (1-888-567-8688) or visit www.optoutprescreen.com for details. The telephone number and website are operated by the major consumer reporting companies. When you call or visit the website, you’ll be asked to provide certain personal information, including your home telephone number, name, Social Security number, and date of birth. The information you provide is confidential and will be used only to process your request to opt out.

Remember that if you have joint credit relationships, like a mortgage or a car loan with a spouse, partner, or other adult, you may continue to receive some prescreened solicitations until both of you exercise your opt-out right.

What is the cause of all the credit card offers to me?

OK, I paid my rent on time for the last 4 years with 2 late payments in the first year.

I paid my power %26amp; light bill on time for the last 2 1/2 years, after the first year with out a late payment the sent me back my deposet for $150.

1 year with yahoo internet with no late payments. Then went to comcast internet for 1/2 a year now no late payments. Comcast cable for 2 years no late payment.

I have a dibit card that i use to buy several music items costing $200 -$600 two to four times a year on a easy payment plan = 3 payments for 3 months for the last 3 years no late payments.

My credit was so bad before all this i couldnt get a credet card. Now i%26#039;v gotten at lest 12 - 15 offers in the last 3 months .

Well when you%26#039;re dealing with pre-approved offers any credit card company can review your credit report (without permission) and see you%26#039;re making payments on time from your history, etc. Based on that info they can decide whether tp extend offer of credit. A lot of people get pre-apporved credit cards. Does your sister pay her bills on time? If so she should be getting some. Maybe she has too much credit or her credit isn%26#039;t as good as yours. I choose to opt out of pre approved offers because it was getting to be ridiculous I was receiving at least 3 a day!!!

Why would someone want the curse of credit cards????? I never have met a wealthy person that told me - I got rich off of spending money I didn%26#039;t have and paying the bank to give me money for things I couldn%26#039;t afford.

Credit bureaus sell profiles - you may not even qualify for the offers. Do your sister a favor - tell her to pay for everything in cash - she will be able to be a millionaire by the time she retires with that mentality.|||Really look at those credit card offers...are they with no annual fee? No start-up fee? No membership fee? A lot of cards out there will send offers to people with a low credit score, but they come with 29%+ APR, a membership fee, an annual fee, a start up fee, and additional card fees. Unless you have offers with low APR that are FREE to carry, you are not really good offers yet.|||You must be doing something else because none of the things you mentioned report to the credit bureaus.|||Well, there really is no cause...Everyone gets em...If u want em to stop, call the company and tell them ur adress and crap and tell them stop calling my house dammit! :P Hope u take this advice if u start getting annoyed by them..|||The offers are probably subject to credit approval. The ones that are not are usually very expensive for people with a troubled history. Annual fee, start up fee, monthly maintenance fee, additional card fee, etc. Charges often exceed $200 without you ever using it. Sounds like you%26#039;re doing good without credit anyway. You should keep going just like you are and encourage your sister to do the same. It%26#039;s a simple idea but if you can%26#039;t afford to save any money to buy what you want, you can%26#039;t afford payments, either. If you would like a plan to be financially successful, go to daveramsey.com.|||If you recently applied for credit, you may be on some list. So-called %26quot;pre-approved%26quot; offers are usually just that.

Credit card companies buy lists of people and their credit scores from the three major credit reporting agencies. If you aren%26#039;t receiving offers in the mail, then the credit card companies don%26#039;t think you are a good risk for them.

The only other reason is if you opted out from receiving unsolicited offers from credit card companies by notifying the credit reporting agencies by mail; but based on your question I seriously doubt you have done that.

Are there negative effects for signing up for credit card offers and then canceling?

There are lots of offers that give away free stuff for signing up for a credit card. Assuming that I just sign up, get the reward and then cancel, does that hurt my credit or anything else? Thank you

Are there negative effects for signing up for credit card offers and then canceling?bridge loan

It can.

%26quot;Every time you apply for credit, the application shows up on your credit report as a credit inquiry. These inquiries stay on your credit report for two years, but only factor into your credit score for one year. Inquiries not initiated by you, like account reviews by existing accounts, promotional inquiries and you requesting your credit report for review, don%26#039;t factor into your credit score.

%26quot;Inquiries can have a greater impact, however, if you have few accounts or a short credit history. Large numbers of inquiries also mean greater risk: People with six inquiries or more on their credit reports are eight times more likely to declare bankruptcy than people with no inquiries on their reports.%26quot;

Well is that really how you want to be remembered?

%26quot;Here lies Michael B. He sure did get a lot of free crap from credit card companies.%26quot;|||Yes there is. Your FICO score depends on how many credit cards you apply for and sign up for.

Too many and it will lower your credit rating / FICO score. How many is too many, I have no idea, but it does lower it if you have alot.|||Yes it hurts your credit score bad! It sounds weird but every time you sign up for a credit card, it%26#039;s a strike against you (until you prove good credit on it). Every time you cancel a card it%26#039;s a strike against you.|||Yes, it would hurt your credit. Obtaining then canceling credit cards shows you%26#039;re not serious about establishing good credit. Good credit reputation comes when you establish an account in good faith and pay your bill promptly, month after month. It shows you know how to pay your bills. Opening and then canceling cards shows immaturity. Good luck!|||I jump at any offer for AAdvantage miles. Do most of my traveling that way. My credit score is 780.

Never bothered me.

The hard part is to keep the books so you don%26#039;t have a fee in a year. Cancel in the 11th month. I activate the card then cut it up and never...never make a purchase with it.

Fun|||For ever time you open a account you get a inquiry and that cost you 2-3 points. When you cancel a card you can lose a lot of points depending on how long you had it opened. No you don%26#039;t want to play with credit that way you will end up being the loser.|||If you have many credit cards and are seriously into credit card debt, chances are good that you must be thinking of getting rid of few credit cards. The strange fact is that if you get rid of a credit card without giving thought to the points listed below, you could be shooting yourself in the foot. Yes, it could damage your credit history further. Here is how this happens.

Assume that you have 3 credit cards with the following data

Card A: $2000 credit limit - $1000 Outstanding Balance

Card B: $5000 credit limit - $2500 Outstanding Balance

Card C: $10000 credit limit - $5000 Outstanding Balance

With these credit cards the data that emerges is that you have a total credit limit of $17000 of which you have an outstanding balance of $8500 or 50%. The fact is that the percentage of your outstanding balance to credit limit should be low. The credit rating agencies prefer it to be in the limits of around 30%.

Now suppose you decide to end your Credit Card A and transfer all its balances to credit card B supposing that it has a low APR. Now you have a total credit limit of $15000 and outstanding balance of $8500 (providing the balance transfer doesn%26#039;t increase the credit limits). With this step your outstanding balance to credit limit ratio goes up to 57%(rounded off).

So, the net result is ending a credit card will increase your debt to limit ratio which is not good for credit history.

My advice is to cut up the card and throw it away. Don%26#039;t get another one. In the end, you will be out of a lot more money than you bargain for. Don%26#039;t do it|||Obviously it is not a good card, you have a limited credit history and so you can expect to get more offers like that from other sub-prime card companies. You will always get offers from credit card companies based on your credit history and information they recieve. In order for them to honor for the card you have to apply for it, like any other card, and at that time they will tell you if you quality for that program or not. When you recieve the offer you need to read all terms and conditions because it will state that there are certain requirements they require in order for you to get the 0%.

When a credit card inquires about your income that is so that they can calculate your credit limit. They normally do not continue to inquire about a customer%26#039;s job situation once they open the account and you use the card.

At that pont the credit card company looks at you as you need to pay them back. If you got fired and stop making payments then they will start to inquire and call you for payment. If you don%26#039;t make payments after awhile the account will go into default and you will be recieving collection calls from the credit card company.

The lenders have access to your credit reports on a daily basis, this does not mean that they check every day or for that matter every few months. But the other side of the coin is that they DO have the right to check at anytime. Read your card agreement that you signed..you agreed to their terms when you signed the back of the card or first used the card. Actually most likely by law, you are suppose to inform them of the loss of your job although very few people would do this.

You could still recieve the offers for 0% for a limited time from the various lenders, but understand that when you apply for any of them you are doing so fully aware that at this time you are in no position to accumulate more debt %26amp; if they do find out or your financial situation for whatever reason worsens you%26#039;re setting yourself up for a lot of trouble on several levels.

The best thing you could do is to get back on the saddle as soon as possible, get that new job %26amp; before applying for more credit spend a reasonable amount of time at your new place of employment first. The wisest thing you could do.

Have you checked credit history recently %26amp; also your FICO score? Make sure you do what you can to keep it as close to 720 as possible %26amp; the closer to 800+ the better.

One last thing, if the lender finds out %26amp; that%26#039;s a big if at this point, it could very easily put a black mark on your credit report that will stay there for some time.

If you%26#039;re still paying at least a bit over the minimum monthly on the $1500.00 you owe the lender %26amp; make no other applications for any form of credit until you get the situation under control, you should be in the clear...no promises but that%26#039;s my take on it.|||They are creating their mailing lists off of prescreened credit reports. Prepaid or debit cards:

These are the easiest option available for bad credit people. There are no verifications, no credit checks, no employment requirements, and the approval is instant. All they have to do is to deposit a money and a prepaid card is issued. This card has the borrowing or buying capacity equivalent to the funds deposited. The good thing with prepaid credit card is that it promotes financial discipline. Some prepaid card issuers report to various credit rating agencies, thus it helps in rebuilding your credit history. Which credit card offers higher credit limit for students?

hi..

I%26#039;m an international graduate student in US and I wish to apply for a credit card. I have been here for an yr now and have been working part time for 6 months now.

Which card do you people think, will offer me greater benefits like low APR, no annual fee and more credit limit(say above 1000$)

Which credit card offers higher credit limit for students?exchange rate

It%26#039;s hard to say which card will give you a greater credit limit since this is based on a variety of factors (ie: credit score, income level, etc.). But you can compare a complete list of student credit cards here:

http://www.asapcreditcard.com/student-ca...

I would guess most credit card companies will offer a similar credit limit based on the factors listed above. You could always apply for an offer to see which terms you receive. If you don%26#039;t like the terms-- you can always turn-down the offer.

Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!

Are credit card offers requiring money up front legit?

I got an offer in the mail for a $10,000 credit limit visa card in the mail yesterday, stating that all I had to do was send them $37 and they would send it out. Is this legit? And do they really give you that much of a limit?

Are credit card offers requiring money up front legit?credit report

I was told by my Financial manager, NEVER apply for a card that asks for money upfront. It%26#039;s a scam. If a card has a fee it should be deducted off of your credit limit balance and if you can, try not to apply for a card with any fee. You end up paying interest on the fee.

Are credit card offers requiring money up front legit? loan

NOpe. Read the fine print. Subject to credit approval.|||10,000 is a lot for a card limit, unless your rich with excellent credit, and usually there are fees, but they are just added to the balance on your card. This offer sounds weird, you really should just rip it up and throw it out.|||your limit will not be that high....the fine print usually says %26quot;as high as.%26quot;....these are usually credit repair cards and the money is usually some kind of a annual fee...|||If you want a credit card, go to a major site like Bank of America and apply for a card.

Don%26#039;t respond to some junk mail you got asking you to send them money. You are no more likely to get a card that way, and if they want money up front they sound totally crap.

Bank of America has a massive selection of cards, especially since they now own MBNA. So you are sure to find something that will work for you. They even have online helpers you can talk to live, and a phone number to call.

The better your credit, the nicer the card you can get.

I%26#039;m sure if you read the small print on your letter it will say that the credit limit is up to $10,000 which means it can be anything from $100 to $10,000. It probably also says something about subject to credit approval. Being %26#039;pre-approved%26#039; is a meaningless phrase. It%26#039;s like me saying I am a pre-millionaire. Also, what%26#039;s the interest rate? That%26#039;s rather an important question. If it is over 20% it will be almost impossible to pay it back.

Just throw your junk mail in the shredder where it belongs.|||Bethany,

I think it probably is legal but is it advisable? No. This tells me the company is catering to the needs of people with little or no credit history or bad credit. Chances are the monthly fees are very high and if you miss a payment, well, you will be poor.

However, some companies will issue a credit card if you deposit money with them. This can be a good idea.

Prepaid credit cards - the perfect way to control your spending and keep within budgets. You set the spending limits by the prepaid amount loaded on the card. This kind of credit card works well for students and teenagers too. Parents need not worry about spiraling debt that the kids may pile up.

http://www.wahmsearchengine.com|||Yes they are.

I work for one of these places

They are for people with very bad credit and a way to repair the problems. And if they were not legit I would not work there.|||NO!!!|||Unless it it through a major bank like Bank of America, Us Bank or an instution of that stature it is completely bogus. What those are callled are SECURED CREDIT CARDS. And it is like a debit card. And if that is the case just get a debit card then and go about it that way.If you have BAD credit do like I did find out who your credit issues are with and make arrangements to clear up the matter. Even if it is for only 5$ a month. Pay something. Eventually it catches up with you. And as far as those secured credit card estasblishments and businesses of that nature are concerned think of them like a used car lot like a Car Credit City that ,sure you can get a vehicle with poor credit ,you%26#039;ll only have to pay 20% + intrest on your loan. Those companies prey on people like you and I. Consider it like signing a deal with the devil. DO NOT DO IT , friend. I hope this helped.Take care and best of luck.|||This is a legit practice, however you do need to read the fine print. i seriously doubt they are going to give a $10,000 limit if they are going to charge you money up front. Read everything that came with the offer. My credit is not perfect and I still get offers in the mail for credit cards with upfront fees and fees that are charged once I would get approved. I throw them away. Do some research and try to find one that will not have the fees, there are plenty out there... Good luck!!

Sit down and Hand Write a letter to all 3 credit unions, make sure you include NAME, DOB, SSN, CURRENT ADDRESS, and AGE on these letters. MUST BE HANDWRITTEN AND SIGNED ORIGIONALS. (the addresses are on the web) By law the Credit Bureaus must send you 1 free copy of your full credit report every year. When you get the 3 reports, sit down and go over them with a fine tooth comb. Mark anything that is not correct, and then sit down again and write (some of the credit bureaus have the dispute forms on their websites) a dispute for each item, include in your dispute that you did not authorize nor agree to anything that was %26quot;spammed%26quot;, and make sure you get all untrue %26quot;bad%26quot; credit remarks, check all dates for creditors%26#039; claims against you, and report EVERYTHING THAT is not right. They have 30 days from the day they recieve your disputes to either confirm that the item that you dispute is true, or if not then they must remove it. After you get your %26quot;renewed credit reports%26quot; sit down again and go over them again to be sure that EVERYTHING was corrected if not DO IT AGAIN. You should do this EVERY YEAR cause noone but you will look out for your score. I had terrible credit, and BAD FICO score till I began to do this, last year, I got my score back to the 620 range, and was finally able to purchase my home on my own. Feels great. Hope this helps.

Is there a difference between pre-qualified and pre-approved on credit card offers?

I received a credit card offer that states that I am pre-qualified but I don%26#039;t know if that means the same as pre-approved and I don%26#039;t want them to run my credit unless I am certain that I will be approved. Then they say that balance transfers are at a fixed rate of 5.99 until 2013 but they don%26#039;t state the amount I would be accepted for except that it is for a %26quot;generous%26quot; amount. How do I know what they consider generous?

Is there a difference between pre-qualified and pre-approved on credit card offers?rate my

there is a difference

pre-qualified basically means nothing and they are not guaranteed to approve you

pre-approved means that %26quot;AT THE TIME%26quot; they screened your credit file, you met their requirements for approval

the catch is %26quot;AT THE TIME%26quot;....your score may have gone up or down since they screened your credit

but it%26#039;s likely that you will get approved if you get a pre-approved letter

....

Is there a difference between pre-qualified and pre-approved on credit card offers?

loan

There is no difference. They don%26#039;t know that you are accepted into the credit card of theirs until they run your credit, they are just using different terms as marketing.|||%26quot;Pre-Qualification%26quot; or %26quot;Pre-Approval%26quot;.

Best answer for you to be taken seriously - Pre-Approval trumps ALL other forms. This means you%26#039;ve actually APPLIED for and received loan approval. It means a formal application and all supporting documentation relative to your job, residence and savings have been verified. It means your full credit report has been retrieved and analyzed by an underwriter for layers of risk associated with carrying a mortgage. In essence, it means you have a %26quot;credit card%26quot; with a predetermined limit. It means you are a %26quot;cash buyer%26quot;. It means, you%26#039;ve done your homework and are considered GOLD in the eyes of anyone you present an offer to purchase to. You have reversed the tables and are now in control. NOT the seller, NOT the agent and NOT anyone else. You have the %26quot;thing%26quot; everyone wants. When you have what everyone wants, you%26#039;re the boss.

So, what then is %26quot;Pre-Qualification%26quot;? AKA a %26quot;PQ%26quot;.

Toilet paper. Garbage. Refuse. $1.00 a gallon gasoline.

A PQ is nothing more than a piece of paper issued by who knows, which states you%26#039;ve been interviewed by a %26quot;lender%26quot; or %26quot;Loan officer%26quot; and they%26#039;ve looked at your income and you%26#039;ve told them of your expenses and based on their calculations, you qualify for a loan of %26quot;X%26quot; dollars. No credit report. No job or savings verifications. No professional underwriter.|||You are right to be cautious. As I found out once - that%26#039;s just a %26quot;teaser%26quot; rate. Once they actually process your application they can come back and tell you that you have been approved, but at a higher rate. The problem is they can%26#039;t tell you what rate until you actually apply.|||There is NO difference. You still have to fill out the application and send it in for approval. It%26#039;s mass mailing at it%26#039;s finest.

There is no guarantee of getting the card. And if you send in the application, then they will pull your credit report in full, which means it is a %26quot;hard%26quot; hit, and too many of these can lower your score.

If you really want the card and have a good credit report, then fill it out and send it in. But remember read all the fine print. Most of those offers start you will a low credit amount and some charge monthly or yearly fees just to have the card.

Pre-Approved Credit Card Offers?

My main question about this requires a little work. Ok?

Look to your left on the yahoo answers web page (The main part of the Credit catagory) They are always running an ad in that section that says something about getting a credit card, even if you have bad credit. Orchard Bank is the ad.

What is the %26quot;catch%26quot; with this credit card though? (Low credit limits? High interest rate? No grace period? High amount of money to open the account and high yearly fee to have the account? )

My question is: Are there really any credit card companies out there that will give you an unsecured credit card, if you have %26quot;bad%26quot; credit and NOT charge you an arm and a leg in fees to get the account/card going? I have gotten some credit cards that say I can get the credit card with $250 credit limit, but they take fees out and now I only have like $72 credit and I have to pay $178 before I have the whole credit amount. Can I find a credit card that doesn%26#039;t do that even with not so good credit?

Pre-Approved Credit Card Offers?rate my professor

You%26#039;re right on track with your suspicions there. A card for %26quot;high risk%26quot; people will probably have a low limit and high interest. They generally have a normal grace period and pretty reasonable monthly fees, however.

I%26#039;d try Capital One first before Orchard Bank. Capital One does a lot of cards for mediocre people, such as first time credit users. My first credit card with CO was a $3 monthly fee and $500 credit limit, which I thought was very reasonable. The interest may be a little higher than some other cards, but not unreasonable considering that your credit is bad. That%26#039;s a fact of life until you raise your credit score. Just pay it off quicker so you don%26#039;t pay as much interest.

Pre-Approved Credit Card Offers?

loan

My friend got the Orchard Bank credit card and he loves it. He only got a $500 credit limit (his credit score was like 516) but that is something to start off with and built your credit score back up by making the monthly payments on time. You can make your payments online with them also. That way if you are running late, close to the due date, you can send a payment online. His percentage rate is something like 19% percent and his monthly payments are $20 a month. I think he had to pay like $35 or something up front. What you can do is apply for the card and it will tell you what fees it will take out and if you don%26#039;t agree, just click cancel and don%26#039;t accept the card. Good Luck!|||I ignore these adds.if some one has turned you down. they are doing it for a reason. Bankrupycy is the hard way to learn..work hard to to look out for your self..|||There are very few credit card companies that will give unsecured credit with %26quot;bad%26quot; credit. Now %26quot;bad%26quot; credit has to be defined to determine what the issues really are. Actually I would like to see more of the old secured credit cards come back. At least there were not large fees on those cards and the $250 secured amount on deposit was yours. It let you re-establish credit and your credit score without a major cost.

Orchard Bank is one of the better cards around for %26quot;bad%26quot; credit and beginning to repair your credit. Once you have your credit back on track for a little while, you can qualify for another bank%26#039;s card and cancel the Orchard Bank card.|||Bad credit is no problem for the unsecred credit card companies.

it offers:

* Great card to improve or build your credit

* Reports monthly to 3 credit bureaus

* Free online account management and payment

you can get a best credit card from: http://www.lowest-apr-cards.com/|||I can assure you Orchard bank and bank one credit cards are the best on the markets for people with poor or fair credit. The annual fees they charge you is low.

I think the APR for orchard bank is between 8%-11%. If your credit is poor, they will ask you a deposit to issue a secured credit card. The credit limit will be equal to your deposit. If you want to build your credit, choose it!

Don%26#039;t choose any other card like First Premier bank, Rewards 660, Legacy visa, Tribute, Aspen and Total card.

Orchard bank has no hidden fees and rates.

No credit card will give you a credit card with no credit. Don%26#039;t try to apply to get one so many times, because it will(decrease) reduce your credit score each time when the credit card checks your credit to see if you are qualified for the card. It will take about 30 seconds for the credit card company system to access your credit score.

When you get the chance a card, try to pay the minimum due or more than that as soon as you can.

Its possible.|||I would have to agree, they could possible get them and use false or true information if they know you. So, you will have to just watch out, and check your mail and credit report frequently.|||You%26#039;re 14? And getting credit card offers?

The credit card companies do not issue cards to people under 18.

Get with your parents. You need to run a credit report and see what%26#039;s on it. Credit reporting agencies won%26#039;t give you a report at 14, but if your parents are involved, then they will if you believe it is fraud.

People start getting those offers in the mail when your score is decent. How can you have a credit score if you don%26#039;t have credit?

But, it could be that someone opened a card in your name and is using it.

Identity theft is rampant. Covering your behind is imperitive!

Shred these offers, never throw them away. There%26#039;s not much they could do with them but now days, you need to protect yourself.

To answer your question: They would need to provide your social security number, birthday, mothers maiden name and a few more personal questions that not many others would know. It%26#039;s possible that someone could get hold of this info and use it.

Retail workers and credit card offers?

If you work in retail then more than likely you have a credit goal to meet and your company basically wants you badger a customer into getting their card. Im just curious..are you the type to talk the customer into getting a credit card until they say yes or do you just let it go and leave them alone if they say no the first time that you ask. Me personally if they say no then I leave it alone because I do believe that no means no...and when I tell someone no thats what I mean.

Retail workers and credit card offers?credit check

Personally, I would not badger, it reflects badly on the company. Just do the usual, Would you like to put this on your (Store Name) Card? If customer says no, then just reply, if you apply today, you have no interest for 6 months, or whatever offer the store is offering, you can receive 15% off your total purchase for applying. If they say no the second time, you have done enough, without being a nuisance.

The best card might be the Starwood AMEX card. No fee the first year, and only $30/yr thereafter. You can sign up with a free Starwood account online. Then, for every 20,000 Starwood points you earn, you can transfer to most major airline programs and earn an extra . So your 20,000 points will become 25,000 miles. but dummy me i wanted a credit card because i have bad credit. but i didnt read that they charge a one time fee of 100 dollars and a ten dollar maintenance fee monthly and if i pay the bill on internet they charge you a 7 dollar fee its just crazy, its from applied card bank, what i want to know is do i have to keep the card when i receive it in about 2 weeks or can i just throw it out before i activate it

I just received one of those credit card offers and i applied and got accepted?credit union

I agree with Sarah, cancel the card.

If you fail to cancel it, even if you do not activate it, they will automatically place the fees on the card and expect you to pay.

If you don%26#039;t pay then they will turn it over to collections.

Call them and cancel the card, then write them confirming the cancellation of it. Include your cut up card in with the letter.

Cancel the card altogether... although you technically can%26#039;t *use* the card until it%26#039;s activated, someone else could go dumpster diving and do so for you. Don%26#039;t take the risk.|||You need to consider that once you apply and are accepted, the fees are due and payable even if you never activate the card.

Even if you cancel the card, you will still be billed for the initial fees of $110.00 and have nothing to show for it, and if you don%26#039;t pay they will turn you over to collections and hurt your credit even more than it is now.

Why don%26#039;t you suck it up and pay the fees, use the card for everyday purchases never exceeding 30% of you limit and pay it off in full every month being sure never to be late. This way you will avoid interest fees, late fees and raise you score.

If you do this for 8-10 months you can most likely get a good card once you have established your credit history.|||If you don%26#039;t want the card when you receive it, you have 30 days to call them and cancel the account. Assuming you have not used the card, the bank is required to reverse the origination and annual fees and close the account. This should be listed under the terms and conditions portion of the credit offer you received. If you have bad credit, I recommend you apply for a credit card with Orchard Bank. They have one of the best %26quot;Bad Credit%26quot; credit cards around. Their starting credit limit is only about $300.00. It typically has a $59.00 annual fee and approx. 16.99% apr.

Why do you get more credit card offers when your credit score is low than when it is high?heart rate

Unfortunately, many credit card companies %26quot;prey%26quot; on people with less-than-perfect credit.

CC companies don%26#039;t really make a lot of money off of people who manage their cards responsibly, pay off their balances quickly, pay on time and never overdraw their accounts. Nor do they make money off of those who open credit, charge it and then let it go to collections w/o a second thought. No. They make money off of people who *sometimes* make bad credit decisions. They don%26#039;t go for the people who are deadbeats - those with tons of collections on their accounts. They%26#039;ve proved that they are not to be trusted. The CC companies go for people who fall behind and try really hard to catch up - people who have been delinquent in the past, but ususally show good faith of paying what they owe. Those are the people who will pay the late fees and over-the-limit fees. They cc companies can justify charging this customer a higher interest rate b/c of those issues. That%26#039;s how they make their money...off of honest, hard-working people who have stumbled in the past. Sad but true!

Why do you get more credit card offers when your credit score is low than when it is high?

cuz they know you will use the cards,, like offering a recovering alcoholic a drink|||They are hoping you will want to use them in order to get your score up. Usually they come with a super high interest rate after the initial period.|||Because credit card companies pray on people with bad credit. That is where they make the most money and let%26#039;s face it, that%26#039;s what their business is all about.|||Typically people with scores in the 600-680 range get the most offers. Score is low enough that you may be using credit cards to build your score, but high enough that you are not looked at as a major risk.|||These are are the worst of the worst when it comes to credit cards.

They typically target those people who are trying hard to raise their credit scores or rebuilding their credit after bankruptcy, etc.

They are hoping you will sign up and pay the outrageous annual, processing and application fees. Once you sign up they will hit you with a monthly membership fee.

Avoid these cards at all costs.

I have one credit card and I always pay it on time. The moment I get the bill. I don%26#039;t know my Fico score and there is no bad mark on my credit history (though limited).

Though I am glad but why do you think I don%26#039;t get any pre-approved credit card offere whereas my family members get 2 per day?

I don%26#039;t get any pre-approved credit card offers, Does that mean my credit line is bad?credit counseling

It could one of many reasons, based on having one card your credit is probably mediocore, but that is unlikely to prevent you from getting offers, it is more likely that the credit bureas have a wrong or old adress for you or they have some other wrong pieve of data which is causing you to not qualify. Also depending on who that one card is with, if they don%26#039;t report to the credit bureas then you might now have any credit.

you can get a free credit report yearly at https://www.annualcreditreport.com. You should verify your report yearly to make sure everything is in order and no one is using your social security number (ie identity theft).

Another reason might be that you are on the no junk mail list for your state

They want to prove your creditworthiness before they can give you a credit limit|||such is the rule in the game called %26quot;are you feeling lucky today?%26quot; those pre-approved cards are not really blessings but temptations. by building your relationship with your present card provider, you get the perks, though, not immediate but over time. patience is the key. besides, having a lot of cards may give you short term benefits like a free annual due for the first year but not for the subsequent year or an annual due that is quite steep for the pre-approved status. efficient cash/financial management is what is key here, not the quantity of cards that you hold or get.|||You are just not (thankfully) on a junk mail list.|||they only send offers to peeplles with no or bad credit, iget them all the time, and u cant afford it either.|||Review your credit report and make sure there%26#039;s nothing there working against you. As for those pre-approved cards, you%26#039;re not really pre-approved, I%26#039;ve responded to those and gotten a rejection letter! After they solicited me!|||There could be a couple of things happening. The reason people get those offers in the mail is that these companies do a soft credit hit on the credit file. A soft hit is when a company will only view your name and address. If you aren%26#039;t receiving offers - perhaps your current address is not on file. OR you may have what is called a promotional block on the file. This is a block that prevents companies from viewing your info for purposes of soliciting to you. You can always get a copy of your credit file and check to see which of these is the reason.

What is the catch with these credit card offers claiming 0% APR balance transfer for one year?

Can I actually keep transfering debt to another credit card endlessly?

What is the catch with these credit card offers claiming 0% APR balance transfer for one year?honda finance

The main catch is that if you charge anything else to that card (a new purchase other than the balance transfer(s)), it will be subject to the standard interest rate for the card. Whenever you pay your minimum payment each month, it will go towards the 0% interest balance, so you will owe interest on the new purchase. None of your payments will go to the new purchase until the 0% balance is fully paid off.

Also, check the fine print, because there is often a 3% to 5% transfer fee up front. Transfer $1000, and you have to pay a $50 fee, etc. This is the equivalent to four or five months interest on a low rate card. I have seen offers from Discover for free transfers, but the ones I get from Visa or MasterCard have the transaction fee.

And, it is 0% interest, but you still must pay the minimum payment. If you miss one, the interest will go up to a higher rate than even the standard rate on the card. And when that shows up on your credit report, you won%26#039;t find another card to transfer at 0% interest. Some card issuers will raise your rate if you are late on ANY card from any company, so check the fine print on that, too.

Good luck!

What is the catch with these credit card offers claiming 0% APR balance transfer for one year?

I have no professional experience with this, so I%26#039;m just sharing my POV. It seems like they figure if you%26#039;re carrying a balance big enough to want to transfer, that you won%26#039;t get it paid off in the time frame of the introductory rate so they%26#039;ll get the interest off you later.|||1) There is no catch. They are just trying to steal you from your current Credit Card Company.

2) Yes (That is exactly what most millionaires did before they were millionaires)

Is there a way to tell on credit card offers what your limit is going to be?

Before you actually apply? I know the more you apply for things, it lowers your credit score. I was wanting to transfer a balance and close another credit card but want to make sure the limit will be enough to cover the other one.

Is there a way to tell on credit card offers what your limit is going to be?heart rate monitor

When you decide for a balance transfer it doesn%26#039;t mean that your obligation for payments towards your outstanding balances with the existing credit card company cease to exist. You will have to pay the credit card company all the monthly payments. One way you can save money is to just send the monthly minimum payments to the existing credit card company. This way you won%26#039;t default and invite penalty.

The next step is to sign up with the credit card which you sought for transferring your balances, and fill up the balance transfer application.

When you receive a balance transfer offer from the new credit card company, it%26#039;s time to verify the offer and call your old credit card company about the balance transfer. Get the statements of billing from the old credit card company and ensure that your outstanding balances are $0.

After transferring your balances, it%26#039;s time to close the old credit card. Call up the old credit card company and get it closed. Get the information about this closure in writing. Ask the old credit card company to inform all the major credit bureaus about the closure of the credit card. Read more from: http://www.credit-card-gallery.com/artic...

Capital One is known for its %26quot;aggressive%26quot; marketing. However, you can opt-out of pre-screen credit card offers by going to:

https://www.optoutprescreen.com/

You can also call: 1-888-5-OPTOUT

If Capital One does not stop sending offers after you opt-out (it may take up to 60 days to process the request), send them an opt-out request directly and copy the Better Business Bureau, your State Attorney General%26#039;s Office and the Federal Trade Commission. Be sure to state that you are on the opt-out list (specify the date to show that Capital One is continuing to send you solicitations beyond the 60-day processing period). Be sure to send it certified, return receipt mail.

I always choose the 5-year opt-out instead of the permanent opt-out because the permanent opt-out requires that you mail in a verification form (snail mail) which may delay the process (who uses postal mail these days, anyway?). I prefer the 5 years of peace to start as soon as possible... I can re-submit my next 5 years when the initial 5-year opt-out period expires.

Also, if you move, you will need to submit a new opt-out request.

%26quot;Trip%26quot; Insurance and %26quot;Travel%26quot; Insurance are two different things, and neither necessarily cover medical expenses. Generally, trip insurance on credit cards covers things like if the flight is cancelled, if your luggage is lost; things that happen to the trip to screw it up, but not necessarily to you. Travel insurance usually means the same thing, but could have additional benefits for you, the traveler.

Actual travel medical insurance is available through a variety of sources, many of which you can find online. For places like Canada, you don%26#039;t necessarily need an extensive amount of insurance as Canadian hospitals are decent (and everyone will speak English). I have gotten full medevac travel insurance for trips to Africa and Asia that guarantee that they fly you to the States if you require hospitalization. What credit card company offers the best deals on Business Credit Card?

I have good credit and im in the market for a business credit card. What company offers the best rates, offers, cash back programs ect? Please give me some ideas on programs i should look into from the major cards like, AE, Discover, MC, and Visa.

What credit card company offers the best deals on Business Credit Card?child tax credit

I use Discover for business and Chase for personal. Here is why:

Discover has had a long tradition of being different. When the Discover card was first introduced there was no annual fee, - that may not seem like a big deal but back in the day it absolutely was. Discover credit cards also offer cash back rewards.

For a business using Discover for their corporate credit cards this is a big advantage - you get cash back for spending. And the best part about using these particular corporate credit cards is that the cash back rewards are targeted at specific purchases that you will make as a business, such as gas, travel and office supplies.

The current standard APR on Discover corporate credit cards is 13.99%. There is also a 0% APR introductory offer. Remember - these cards come with a grace period of at least 25 days when you pay the balance in full each month. This means you can run your business interest free on Discover%26#039;s money in 25 day cycles.

A lot of the others have shorter grace periods - something most consumers don%26#039;t think to check up on.

These are for prepaid %26quot;credit cards.%26quot; They actually act more like a debit card, than a credit card. Except that you don%26#039;t even have to have a bank account. Send in your money (probably a money order or cashier%26#039;s check), they issue you a card but probably for a %26quot;line of credit%26quot; quite a bit less than the total you sent them as they are claiming some of that for various fees. The company isuing the card makes a bundle off of you, and since you%26#039;re prepaid, they couldn%26#039;t care less whether you have a job, rotten credit, or whatever. No annual fee, and the lowest interest rate for the longest period of time. Toss out the offers that only give you a low rate for 3-6 mos - they usually jump way up there after that %26amp; it%26#039;s not worth it. %26quot;low interest%26quot; would be anything under 12% for a fixed non-introductory rate. A %26quot;low interest%26quot; introductory rate (say for the first year) would be under 5%, but if it%26#039;s variable after that forget it. Personally I look for the offers that are a guaranteed percentage for the life of the balance if I%26#039;m doing a balance transfer - I%26#039;ve gotten 3.9% for the life of the balance which is great - I can actually pay things off at that rate!

What to look for on credit card offers? loan

I never carry a balance on a credit card, so I don%26#039;t pay attention to rates so much. I think the average is 16-18% which is outragous.

When I look for cards I look at their annual fee which I recommend $0, and a rewards program for every dollar you spend.|||The fine print. Annual fees, One time fees, etc. Many cards offer 300 or 500 credit only to over chargd you with misc fees , leaving you with little credit left on the card. So you end up owing them and haven even got to use your card yet. Also introductory rate offers. Once the time expires on the rate, They raise your rate to an ungodly amount leaving you unable to ever get them paid off.|||If you are planning to pay it off everyone, get the one with no annual fees and earned something worth while. Hotel points, air miles, or real money rebate is the best.

If you are not planning to pay off and carry a balance, then low fixed interest rate, variable is unpredictable. Alos no annual fee. Don%26#039;t get caught up on free first year, you will end up paying that fee due to the balance you are carrying forward.

You should only use credit card for convenience and plan to pay off, otherwise you will be bury in debts for th erest of your life. I have been in th ecredir card business for over 25 years. I see many people just get deeper and deeper. Credit card company issuers are here to make money, no such thing is FREE!|||WATCH OUT!

You can REALLY get in trouble if you spend more than you have to pay the bill IN FULL EACH MONTH!

#1: Get a card with NO ANNUAL FEE!

#2: Find a card that has a %26quot;bonus%26quot; program you like or need. For example: my bank, USAA, gives me 1% of all my purchases back in cash, travel discounts, gift certificates, etc. I usually take the cash. It was over $220 last year!

#3: You won%26#039;t have to worry about the interest rate IF you pay it off each month.

However, the rate is dependent on your credit rating. I%26#039;ve got %26quot;GOLD PLATED%26quot; credit and if I run a balance, I%26#039;ll pay Prime Plus 0%, which is 7.25% right now.

Credit Card that offers Apple Computer Rewards/?

Does anyone know of a credit card out there that offers Apple Computer Rewards or one that offers points that can be used towards Apple merchandise?

Credit Card that offers Apple Computer Rewards/?heart rate

Getting rewarded as you spend money with your credit card makes things interesting for a credit card holder. The cashback, free gas, free air travel, free shopping, discounted merchandise and other freebies that a reward credit card brings with it, add value to credit card ownership. But, there are many things that should be considered to get the maximum benefits from a reward credit card. Read on to get familiar with the basics.

Getting the right reward card that %26#039;really%26#039; helps your cause is the first thing that should be kept in mind while going for a reward card. There is no point in taking a credit card with gas reward if you don%26#039;t drive much. Similarly, if you rarely fly, an airline miles reward card will be worthless for you.

What are the limitations to reward program? Get clear about it. Ask the credit card agent or representative about store preferences, gas outlets to which the credit card is affiliated, airlines, blackout dates, travel restrictions, reward expiry, reward point accumulation and what is required to earn rewards. A reward credit card with lots of restrictions and difficult to redeem gift vouchers or reward points will only frustrate things on your end.
