How do I stop Credit Card offers from coming in the Mail?

I get about 5 of these a day! I rarely even look at my mail anymore and it causes me to miss some important letters. How do I stop these from coming?

You can indeed stop offers from coming in the mail ... disregard the answers from everyone telling you can%26#039;t or to check your mail more frequently ... those responses are wrong. In addition to doing the opt out like a previous writer suggested, also pull your credit reports from all three bureaus (you can do it once a year for free) at:

http://www.annualcreditreport.com

On your credit bureau report you can select a box online to opt out of all prescreened offers AND you can set a selection that prevents unauthorized parties from pulling credit information from your record without your authorization ... this further reduces the stream of junk mail since they can%26#039;t even %26quot;view%26quot; your credit details without talking to you first ... so they don%26#039;t think to send you offers.

Good Luck!

you cant! check your mail more carefully!|||There is usually some fine print at the bottom of the credit card offers that lets you opt out of credit card offers (from certain places). You have to call a phone number or mail something in. Since I opted out, my mail has significantly decreased for these offers.|||you cant , I have the same problem, i%26#039;m 18 and have never even had a credit card and I get a few a week.|||Move. Leave no forwarding address. And NEVER order anything from a mail order company............: )|||Call the opt out line.|||Many credit card companies use a %26quot;prescreen%26quot; from the credit bureaus. It is not a credit pull, but they do prescreen. You can drastically reduce the number of offers you receive by going to http://www.optoutprescreen.com That will remove you from the database card companies use.

Anytime you apply for credit, be sure to read or ask for a privacy policy to see how your information is handled. Do not apply with those companies that will use your information for marketing purposes.|||Get on the donotcall.com list. They cannot call nor write you. I haven%26#039;t gotten over 3 offers since i got on the list.
