i have a good credit history of paying my bills on time but i%26#039;ve only had a credit card for about 6 months. i keep receiving credit card offers in the mail (i know everyone does) but sometimes i get really good one%26#039;s like gold american express and plantinum everything else. is this anything special to me or am i just a random candidate?

I wouldn%26#039;t advise you totally reject them-it does mean that because of your good credit history, they consider you for an upgrade. However, do check and compare differences b/w your present and the gold or platinum. Advantages on the upgrade offer discounts for certain stuff such as dining out, etc and a larger credit to draw from.
Drawbacks? Of course. Higher annual fee, taxes, interests.

|||I dont think that its anything special. All the offers I received when first establishing credit were platinum and better. They only use this to trap you. Only get one store card and 2 cards for emergencies.|||I would recommend getting 3 credit cards total. Dont get any cards where you have to pay a fee. Also, dont get the capital one cards since they actually hurt you credit rating by the way the do their calculations. try to get the american express clear credit card. you get 1% cash back.

Never get the store cards, they dont ask for an arm and leg, they ask for your soul with those interest rates.|||Just stick to the card you have now. You dont need to have too many cards. If they offer is good, compare your interest and fees with your cuurent card company to the one you recieve in the mail. If they are better than what you have, then you can go for a second card.
