What is the cause of all the credit card offers to me?

OK, I paid my rent on time for the last 4 years with 2 late payments in the first year.

I paid my power %26amp; light bill on time for the last 2 1/2 years, after the first year with out a late payment the sent me back my deposet for $150.

1 year with yahoo internet with no late payments. Then went to comcast internet for 1/2 a year now no late payments. Comcast cable for 2 years no late payment.

I have a dibit card that i use to buy several music items costing $200 -$600 two to four times a year on a easy payment plan = 3 payments for 3 months for the last 3 years no late payments.

My credit was so bad before all this i couldnt get a credet card. Now i%26#039;v gotten at lest 12 - 15 offers in the last 3 months .

My sister wants to know which one%26#039;s are doing it so she can do the same ? thanks...

Well when you%26#039;re dealing with pre-approved offers any credit card company can review your credit report (without permission) and see you%26#039;re making payments on time from your history, etc. Based on that info they can decide whether tp extend offer of credit. A lot of people get pre-apporved credit cards. Does your sister pay her bills on time? If so she should be getting some. Maybe she has too much credit or her credit isn%26#039;t as good as yours. I choose to opt out of pre approved offers because it was getting to be ridiculous I was receiving at least 3 a day!!!

Why would someone want the curse of credit cards????? I never have met a wealthy person that told me - I got rich off of spending money I didn%26#039;t have and paying the bank to give me money for things I couldn%26#039;t afford.

Credit bureaus sell profiles - you may not even qualify for the offers. Do your sister a favor - tell her to pay for everything in cash - she will be able to be a millionaire by the time she retires with that mentality.|||Really look at those credit card offers...are they with no annual fee? No start-up fee? No membership fee? A lot of cards out there will send offers to people with a low credit score, but they come with 29%+ APR, a membership fee, an annual fee, a start up fee, and additional card fees. Unless you have offers with low APR that are FREE to carry, you are not really good offers yet.|||You must be doing something else because none of the things you mentioned report to the credit bureaus.|||Well, there really is no cause...Everyone gets em...If u want em to stop, call the company and tell them ur adress and crap and tell them stop calling my house dammit! :P Hope u take this advice if u start getting annoyed by them..|||The offers are probably subject to credit approval. The ones that are not are usually very expensive for people with a troubled history. Annual fee, start up fee, monthly maintenance fee, additional card fee, etc. Charges often exceed $200 without you ever using it. Sounds like you%26#039;re doing good without credit anyway. You should keep going just like you are and encourage your sister to do the same. It%26#039;s a simple idea but if you can%26#039;t afford to save any money to buy what you want, you can%26#039;t afford payments, either. So-called %26quot;pre-approved%26quot; offers are usually just that.
